Causal loop diagrams (CLDs) are a systems thinking tool that facilitates understanding of complexity in health systems. Panel members illustrate the development and use of CLDs in low-, middle- and high-income country contexts (e.g., India, Romania, Uganda, USA). Participants will gain an understanding of the types of questions that CLDs can help answer as well as the types of data and the process that can be used. Further, they will have the opportunity to develop their own basic CLDs during a guided overview of the software used. Participants interested in a hands-on experience are encouraged to download the free version of Vensim on their computer for use during the session.
